The Materials Research Division, Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Technical University of Denmark, is seeking candidates for a Senior Researcher position in the area of processing of polymer matrix composites to develop innovative strategies and to improve current methods of manufacturing polymer matrix composites for the energy and transport sector.

Risø DTU has close collaboration with the leading wind turbine blade manufactures such as LM Glasfiber A/S, Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Siemens Wind Power A/S.

A post-doc position is currently available at the Research centerfor Aircraft Parts Technology in Gyeongsang National University (Jinju, SouthKorea).

The research project will be based in the Research centerfor Aircraft Parts Technology in Gyeongsang National University. The researchwill be supervised by a principal investigator of the project (Prof. Jin-HweKweon).

A post-doc position is offered at the Ecole Centrale of Nantes France.

I am working on effects of Blast Loading in sandwich composites using Abaqus. I want to incorporate Cohesive behaviour at the interface of the two materials in the sandwich composite structure i am analysing.

I was wondering what are the advantages of damage mechanics and fracture mechanics over each other? Specially in order to model the delamination phenomenon.

This kind of composite materials is increasingly used in the design of structural parts, particularly in the aerospace industry.Tack is one of the major properties that governs the ability of prepreg to be laid up. To investigate this property, we have developed a probe tack test to evaluate the effect of the temperature, the contact time, the contact force and the debonding rate on it.

The successful candidate will play a major role in developing the LCM group’s research into advanced composites manufacturing processes (including I/CM, Resin Infusion, VARTM, and RTMLight).

I have just started my postgraduation in aerospace composites. I am new to FE of composites and required serious help in learning composite modelling. It will great if someone can help me in starting up. If you know any websites or books which have examples which I can go through to learn modelling of composites, please let me know. We are seeking to hire an outstanding candidate as a post-doctoral fellow to work on large-scale molecular dynamics of polymers and polymer composites. The project focuses on the characterization of the molecular mechanisms that govern the mechanical responseof these materials. The successful candidate will work in the Strachan group and will have the opportunity to interact with experimentalists and theoreticians in academia, industry and national labs.

A one year (renewable) post-doc position is avalaible at the Ecole Centrale of Nantes, France.

The research deals with the simulation of complex cracking patterns in composites using

the eXtended Finite Element method (X-FEM).
