SimplewareCase Study: Simulating Pore-Scale Chemical Transport

Import and visualisation of micro-CT data

Image-based modelling can be used to analyse mass transfer phenomena through porous media, with particular applications to reservoir rock pore-throats networks. The aim of these analyses is to improve our understanding and characterisation of the way fluids move through variable pore-scales.

Vacancy: Simpleware Sales Engineer Germany (DACH) Area

job

We are an international, fast-growing and innovative software company offering a dynamic working environment and opportunities for individual initiatives and career development. This interesting and varied position will require you to work very closely with R&D departments of a range of blue chip corporate companies, research institutions and universities.

For further expansion of our business in the German (DACH) area, we are looking for a skilled and ambitious Technical Sales Engineer.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Development of a Biofidelic Human Head Model from MRI data

NRL-Simpleware head model

Traumatic brain injuries from head impact are a major issue across areas such as defence, automotive and sports, and can be costly to research using experimental testing. These injuries can be explored, though, through 3D models created from scan data and computer simulations.

SimplewareAustralia Workshops

Simplewarewill be running a series of free workshops in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne from March 23rd to April 1st 2015

These will include an overview of using the software to visualise, analyse, process and generate models from 3D image data (MRI, CT, micro-CT...). Learn how to obtain very high quality models from image data, how to integrate CAD objects with images, how to calculate effective material properties using Finite Element-based homogenisation techniques, and about exporting robust FE and CFD meshes for simulation in other software.

Case Study: Modelling Ultrasonic Array Response of Real Cracks

Stress corrosion cracks can be a serious problem in many engineering industries, and especially so for critical parts. While an ultrasonic transducer can be used for the non-destructive evaluation of cracks with simple shapes, complex branching cracks, such as stress corrosion cracks, require ultrasonic arrays that consist of multiple transducers and are able to inspect at multiple angles.

Case Study: Mechanics of Bacterial Biofilms on Surgical Sutures

Biofilms represent bacterial communities that attach to implanted medical devices such as sutures and catheters. When detached from implants within the body, biofilms can cause chronic infections. This study used Simpleware software to generate image-based microscopic Finite Element (FE) models from confocal laser scanning microscopy scans of real biofilm colonies attached to a surgical suture fragment.
