The M2DO lab at UC San Diego has multiple Post-Doctoral ResearcherOpenings to conduct research in developing topology optimization in collaboration with NASA, Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories, and industries.

The primary research focus is on computational mechanics and topology optimization for multiscale and multiphysics problems of materials and structures. This is an opportunity to work in a lively team environment and advance the state of the art digital engineering for complex systems and large-scale optimization. The application areas span across aerospace, electrical systems, architected and metamaterials, multifunctional mechanical systems and batteries.

Those with research experience and interests in one of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Topology optimization

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Finite Element Analysis

Fluid-structure interaction

Thermo-fluid米echanics

Mechanics of batteries

Nonlinear Analysis

Multiscale computational mechanics

Level set method

Coupled sensitivity analysis

Scientific computing

Large-scale software development

The research is numerical and computational in nature. Programming skills are essential. Good team working skills should be demonstrated in the application.

The postdoctoral researchers at M2DO lab regularly receive trainings for leadership and communication skills. They are also mentored on one-to-one basis in developing a CV, independent research portfolio and tailored career development support.

More information about the current research activities of the lab can be foundhttp://m2do.ucsd.edu

Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Interested candidates should email (1) CV with publications list (2) one representative and most relevant paper or transcripts (3) names and contacts for three referees to Dr H Alicia Kim (alicia@ucsd.edu) with the subject: M2DO research.
