Meet the Editors-in-Chief of Mechanics Journals at SES2016: An Open Forum

The advent of internet era has been driving some significant changes in scientific publication process. The needs for optimizing publication process, from manuscript preparation and submission, to review process and to post-publication dissemination, are ubiquitous for many disciplines. There is no exception for the mechanics field.

To this end, we are glad to announce thatSES2016will host an open forum of “Meet the Editors-in-Chief of Mechanics Journals”, which features the following panelists:

  • Huajian Gao, Journal of Mechanics and Physics of Solids (JMPS)
  • Jimmy K. Hsia, Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML)
  • Yonggang Huang, Journal of Applied Mechanics (JAM)
  • Stelios Kyriakides, International Journal of Solids and Structures (IJSS)
  • K. Ravi-Chandar, International Journal of Fracture (IJF)
  • Zhigang Suo, Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML)

The open forum will take place 3:30pm-4:40pm EDT, Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Chasen Family Room (main level), College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center (SES2016 conference venue).

We welcomeSES2016attendees to join us at this open forum to learn from these Editors-in-Chief on their vision of publishing in mechanics journals and to discuss with them on various aspects of publishing mechanics research.

We would like to take this opportunity to solicit your inputs on topics or questions you would like to discuss with these Editors-in-Chief at this open forum. Please feel free to leave your comment below. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions to make this open forum a fruitful one. Together, let’s help shape a better future of mechanics journals.
