Mechanical Engineer – (Borehole Enlargement)Location:Houston - United States

Job description:

The engineer will be responsible for the development of equipment associated with down-hole applications. The engineer’s responsibility within a project to develop this equipment will be conceptualization of ideas, technical assessment of feasible concepts (component/feature stress analysis and operating limitations), prototype testing, redesign iterations based on field trial feedback. The engineer will be expected to monitor their project during its design phase which could last a few weeks up to several months.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, develop, maintain products and assist in their commercialization - in agreement with project technical and timing objectives.
• Design, produce analyses, mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those.
• Apply usability procedures and principles as defined at the project or product-line level or through customer input.
• Build prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing and may be required to set up and run lab simulations.
• Design testing procedures and coordinate with others to perform tests. Conduct tests, document test results and develop client presentation.

Additional skills/attributes being sought:

• Mechanical Engineer with -
• MS Degree and 3yrs experience OR
• BS Degree with 6yrs experience
• Familiarity with downhole drilling applications.
• Key Expertise: PDC bit design and/or cutting structure design experience.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Pro-E/Solidworks and analysis tools such as Abaqus/Ansys.
• Background in physical testing and experience with cutting structure design of reamers are a plus.
