How to model a composite material in ansys

Hi forum members i want to model any composite materials in ansys software. For modeling a composite material in ansys what are the elements i should choose and the material properties i should give for the composite. Please help me. Thanks.

how to set the absolute contact stiffness when considering cohesive zone material (CZM)property

I'm simulating the interface between a steel plate and the fire proof coatings covering the steel plate. The elements i use in the simulation is contact 173 with a material property of debonding, which is defined as cohesive zone model.(CZM)

CZM in ansys provides TBDATA such as maximum contact stress, contact at the completion of debonding, but what's the problem is that I failed to set the initial contact stiffness. it's true that ansys provides FKN to define the contact stiffness, but it's just a stiffness factor.

cantilever column

hello all,

i modeled a cantilever column with eccentric loading to simulate half of ordinary column, i get a small displacement at cantilever tip (equals 1/3 of reality,) so i want ahelp a bout updating geometry during analysis in order to getting effect of second order/nonlinear effects due to eccentric load.my softwareis ANSYS

Analysis of grinding using nano cutting fluids with ANSYS.

Hello,

Im doing my M.Tech project on 'Analysis of grinding using nano cutting fluids with ANSYS" . But ANSYS has to work at nano level.. So how to make programming to make ANSYS to use to solve nano level problems.

Hi,

I am trying to model a sheet of Poly Vinyl Butryl (PVB), which is a viscoelastic material in ANSYS. I have all the regular properties like elastic, shear and bulk modulus, poisson ratio, denstiy and damping factor. I also have astress- straincurve of PVB. With all this data, is it possible for me to find the various constants in the viscoelastic models using ANSYS?

Thanks

Cyclic thermal load

I need to apply cyclic thermal load on a layered structure and want to see the stress generated and structural displacement using Ansys. How can I apply cyclic thermal load? iI tried to use Load Step Opts. Since I am interested only in stress-displacemnt, I used structural element. But if i use structural element, it doesn't give me Time/frequency option under load Step. Do i need to use coupled element? Is there any other way to apply cyclic thermal load to see stress-displacement? Thanks!

Meshing a block with spherical void inside in Ansys

I have a squre block and inside it there is an sphere. I want to mesh
the whole assembly. I can mesh the sphere but when i try to mesh the
squre block with the spherical hole it cant mesh and says "it cant
select the source and target face". I also tried to devide it into 8
parts. That helped me to mesh the sphere but i cant mesh the squre with
spherical hole with that too. So please anyone can help me out.

Hello everbody,

I'm mechanical engineer and working as FEA Engineer in GATES. I have
been using ANSYS for 5 years and I want to ask a question about new
版本的有限元分析软件.

I use ANSYS Mechanical 12.1. I connect "geometry" and "setup" to
Mechanical APDL box in "project schematic". Then when I open Mec. APDL, I
can see the cad model (areas, lines, volumes) and FEM (nodes, elements)
but they aren't connected to each other. is there any way to connect
solid model to finite element model?

Best Regards.

generalized plane strain, ansys

Hi

I am doing a simulation using Ansys . I use finite element plane 183 with the generalized plane strain option. The problem is that i am doing something wrong and this option dosn't work .Does anybody knows where i can find an example using generalized plane strain option .I have read the mannual and the example 38 in verification mannual but it did not helped

Reinforced Concrete in ANSYS

I am conducting a senior design project in ANSYS. I am modeling a folded reinforced concrete plate and have never used ansys before. Does anyone have any tutorials that involve non-linear analysis? I am trying to get a force vs. deflection curve and I am having troubles.

Thanks

应用热通量为一个特定的时间sing ANSYS

Hi everyone,

how can I apply a 'X' amount of heat flus for a specific amount of time? It'll be helpful to include the steps especially for the part on specifying the amount of injection time (say 3 micro seconds)

Thanks!!

Simulate moving laser beam on a plate in ANSYS

Hi everyone!

I've been trying ansys for a few weeks but in vain. I'm trying to inject a heat source(laser) on a 2D rect plate. I'm not sure on the corrct way to add the boundary conditions. This is what I do:

1. assuming room temp so i added 298K to the bottom, left and right using define loads >add_temp>lines

2.next i inject a heat source say 1000K using define loads>add_temp_on nodes to a few surface center nodes (meaning the top surface still have undefine boundary conditions)

How to used elements in ANSYS Classic

Hello to everybody,

Can somebody help me with advice in the next problem : I want to study an dynamic movement of some beams, with rigid body option from ANSYS Classic. I encountered the problem when I want to choose the element type for cilynder. I choose LINK11. But I need to simulate what is happend between the moment when is applied the force on cilynder and imposed lenght of ciclynder after pool.

How I can settup the properties of element LINK11 to satisfy my results.

Fatigue analysis in ANSYS claasic environment !!

Hello ANSYS users,

I am having hard time ANSYS's documentation for fatigue analysis in claasic environment. Tutorials available on internet talk bat ansys workbench only. Has anyone done fatigue analysis in ANSYS claasic? If yes, is there any source for tutorials ?

Thanks,

Good evening,

in the order to perfom a calculation of Tsai-Wu Fc in Ansys there are two fundamentally different methods:
1. with the help of nodal stresses.
2. or with the stresses from the element table.

I want to know what is the difference, and which method, according to your experience is the best.

Thank you very much!
