博士学位的机会the University of Southampton - UK/EU students only //m.limpotrade.com/node/19808

This project is part of a larger effort aiming at designing the next generation of high strain rate tests of materials based on modern ultra-high speed deformation imaging and inverse identification. This project is partly funded by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) who have an interest in high strain rate behaviour of carbon fibre polymer matrix composites. The selected candidate will join a group of half a dozen researchers working on similar topics as part of the Photodyn project (www.photodyn.org). The research is both numerical and experimental and of a very exploratory nature. This requires candidates with curiosity, enthusiasm and a strong background in solid mechanics to work at the cutting edge of the current knowledge in this area.

Please contact me at f.pierron@soton.ac.uk with copies of transcripts and a CV. Note that funding is secured for EU/UK student only, though exceptional overseas students may be considered. The post starts on Sept. 26th 2016, though this may be flexible. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible, the post will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.
