The Applied Mechanics Division Executive Committee (AMD-EC) is pleased to announce the 2021 IMECE Student presentation award competition.
Students can self-nominate and are required to send a brief one-page CV, a recommendation letter from the student’s Faculty Advisor or Department Chair, the abstract of a paper accepted for presentation at IMECE in Track 12: Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Fluids, and a draft presentation. Please note that, at the time of the award presentation, the applicant must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at a US institution. A Faculty Advisor may not endorse more than one student. The nominations will be reviewed by the AMD-EC. Up to ten students will be selected for grants of $400 each.
Dates:
September 17, 2021: Submit the nomination, by e-mail, to Professors Pradeep R. Guduru (Pradeep_Guduru@Brown.edu) and Marco Amabili (marco.amabili@mcgill.ca). Glaucio received this award for seminal contributions on multiscale fracture mechanics and cohesive failure of existing and emerging materials; and for leadership at the national level as NSF program director for mechanics of materials and for sustained contributions to the CONCAM committee of ASME.
