iMechanica - harmonic displacement //m.limpotrade.com/taxonomy/term/6766 en Is it a bug? can't manage displacement amplitude when applying it via function //m.limpotrade.com/node/11304

Hello,
everyone!

I’m trying
to simulate different types of acoustic waves in linear anisotropic crystal in
order to measure their propagation speed (phase speed), and compare it with
experimental data.

My model is
a parallelepiped with harmonic displacement being applied to one face, and fixed
opposite face. I apply the displacement via function:
Amplitude*Sin(time*quotient). The problem is, I can’t manage the actual
amplitude. Although I set amplitude to be something like 10e-6, after I get the
problem solved, I see very large displacements (pleade, look at the attached screenshot).

At the
screenshot you can see that actual displacement displayed on the picture is
much greater than the corresponding graph indicates (you can see undeformed wireframe).

Do you have
any suggestions as to why that might happen?

Thank you
for your time.
