Seeking a Postdoc Position in Computational Mechanics and Machine Learning
I am a postdoc in the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at UCLA. I got a bachelor's degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Harbin Institute of Technology (ranking 1st in our major). I obtained my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Both my PhD and postdoc work are in integrating machine learning and physics-based simulations with application to granular flow and mobility of unmanned vehicle on soft terrain. I have extensive coding experience in MATLAB, C++, and PYTHON. Specifically, I developed physics-based computational frameworks to capture multi-physics/multiphase/multiscale phenomena. I then leveraged data driven modeling (machine learning, reduced order modeling, data assimilation) for fast prediction of the same. Orders of magnitude reduction in computational time are achieved with the data-driven modeling approach compared with physics-based simulations.
I am looking for another round of postdoc. I can start as soon as July or August this year. If you are interested, feel free to contactgjwang@ucla.edu
Attached please find myCVand poster summary ofmy work。

Guanjin
